8.Treatment of contaminated soil
Soils contaminated with chemicals and even radioactive wastes have long polluted Japanese rivers and tributaries. Since the famous " itai-itai"(pain, pain) case over 30 years ago where rice fields were contaminated by a large chemical plant, the scale of the problem in Japan has continued to escalate.
Research work on plasma arc technology at GIT and in numerous field tests have documented that plasma torches can effectively and successfully remediate soils contaminated with toxic materials including radioactive wastes. (please refer to the attached documents for details)
