2.Embankment
|
| People inhabiting coastlines in Japan have little protection
from tidal waves. The most common method for protecting embankments now is to
pour a layer of concrete over the surface of the weakened area. Tidal forces
almost always wash these concrete surfaces away.( please refer to figure 2) |
| As described in chapter 1, by creating the vitrified columns
with the plasma torch, extremely strong subsurface columns are created. Theses
function as piling which would then be covered with concrete. |
